Position Summary 

Develops and maintains relationships through commercial loan accounts that meet established lending requirements and provides maximum profitability to the Bank at minimum risk.

 

Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities

  1. Develops and manages all types of commercial banking relationships. Interviews applicants, gathers and evaluates financial and related data to establish credit worthiness, establishes and re-negotiates credit terms, when necessary. Continually monitors customers' financial condition and repayment progress. Assesses clients' banking and financial needs. Takes appropriate corrective action as necessary after consultation with SVP.
  2. Meets with clients to discuss new loan requests, loan renewals, and loan modifications. Completes Loan Analysis Reports (LARs), Modifications (MODs), and Line of Credit Renewals as required.
  3. Makes loan presentations to the Senior Loan Officers Committee and/or Board of Directors as required.
  4. Represents the bank in community organizations and activities to enhance the bank's image and maintain and enhance a referral network for business development opportunities.
  5. Refers customers requiring specialized products and services to other areas of the bank as appropriate.
  6. Assist SVP with SAC/3H preparation, presentations and recommendations to the SAC Committee on a monthly basis.
  7. Completes construction inspections on 1-4 family properties and certain commercial projects, including but not limited to, going to site, taking photographs, completing construction draw request form, and process as required in a timely fashion.
  8. Collects financial and related data from clients.
  9. Operates Horizon and ENCORE to pull existing client's loan information to be used in loan analysis and in answering client inquiries. Further utilize ENCORE to document client and prospect interactions. Also utilize ENCORE for scheduling, creating reports, and sending referrals.
  10. Orders In-house and Certified appraisals as required on a timely basis.
  11. Analyzes past due report on weekly basis and contacts delinquent accounts for collection of payments.
  12. Attend settlements and meet with customers to have documents executed as needed.
  13. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  14. Recommends modifications to bank lending policies and procedures; ensures that necessary changes are implemented expeditiously.
  15. Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis through various training resources.
  16. Monitors all delinquent loans up to 60 days past due to insure collection efforts are in place.
  17. Maintains professional community relations to increase the bank's visibility and new business opportunities, and to further personal development.
  18. Satisfactorily complete required annual BSA/AML and other compliance related training appropriate for this position by achieving a score of 85% and appropriately apply this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities.
  19. Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy and following the provisions of the policy, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.
  21. Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately

    Educational & Other Requirements

    1. Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, related field, or equivalent experience.
    2. Minimum of 2-3 years of prior commercial lending experience.
    3. Thorough understanding of Financial Statements, tax returns, and credit approval process.
    4. Strong human relations, communication, sales, financial leadership and analytical skills.
    5. Strong well-developed interpersonal skills in order to maximize business contacts and develop a working relationship with potential and current commercial customers.
    6. Minimum of one year prior supervisory/management experience
    7. Motivation and drive must be exhibited.
    8. Interact effectively and communicate with customers via telephone and email.
    9. Interact effectively with all Bank employees.
    10. Must be bondable.
