Position Summary

The Financial Center Manger is accountable for the Financial Center's functions, staff, sales, service quality, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include ensuring the staff is managed so that it operates as an effective sales and service team, deploying techniques such as employee coaching and development, goal setting, holding regularly scheduled sales and check-in meetings, demonstrating focused efforts to meet sales and service goals, and increasing client cross-sell and retention. The Financial Center Manager and their staff will use effective consultative sales, interpersonal, and communication skills to ensure the sale of financial products / services and make qualified referrals to business partners.

 

Educational & Other Requirements

  • College degree in finance or business related discipline and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years retail banking experience including sales, account opening, and supervisory / branch management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be bondable.

 

Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for attaining Financial Center goals, such as deposit, loan, cross-sell and business partner referral targets, in order to retain and increase the Financial Center's client base and market share.
  2. Develops and maintains contact with local small businesses, realtors, municipalities, and community leaders to create awareness of PeoplesBank and the Financial Center as a partner in the community.
  3. Actively calls on current and potential clients to deepen and development relationships, including joint meetings with business partners as appropriate.
  4. Works with staff to develop individual goals and performance objectives consistent with the Financial Center's business plan and goals. Ensures staff is focused on the Financial Center's and the Bank's strategies and objectives.
  5. Develops and fosters the Financial Center's sales culture with an emphasis on high quality client service. Champions service quality through recognition, praise, and leading by example.
  6. Responsible for developing and monitoring the sales skills and effectiveness of the staff through observation and coaching.
  7. Maintains a thorough knowledge of traditional financial products and services, including but not limited to, pricing, features, functionality, benefits, and servicing policies/practices. Also, maintains a basic knowledge of non-traditional financial products.
  8. Opens all types of deposit accounts and takes applications for consumer loans accurately and efficiently.
  9. Responsible for developing and monitoring the Financial Center's expense budget.
  10. Exercises the usual authority of a Manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, promotions and terminations.
  11. Responsible for self and staff maintaining technical proficiency in the operation of appropriate PeoplesBank systems, following policies and procedures, and adhering to audit and security procedures.
  12. Follows established procedures to open/close the Financial Center as required.
  13. Prepares monthly and other reports as required.
  14. Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately.
  15. Satisfactorily completes all required annual regulation, sales and service training.
  16. Responsible for holding self and staff accountable for client service quality through strict adherence to ethical standards of behavior as outlined in the PeoplesBank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  17. Communicates thoughts and ideas related to the continual improvement of processes, products, services, and related concepts.
  18. Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.
